NasalAid began with my dad struggling with severe sleep apnea. A disease we learned had no cure and the treatment included using a CPAP mask everyday for the rest of his life. Out of pure frustration with the available treatments he began to try and figure out what he himself could do to keep his nose open at night and this was the inception of NasalAid. I later found myself in school studying biology and working in a naturopathic clinic. I loved science and research but hated school. I knew that I wanted to help people and that the current healthcare model was terrible. With this I began working on NasalAid in my free time. I would talk directly with patients that were using prototypes and their doctors. To me my ability to make an impact on healthcare in my own way had presented itself in the most incredible way. Patients and doctors gave great feedback on the device and I found so many people that felt unhappy with the current way of treating sleep. I was lucky to grow up in the bay area and have access to the Sleep Team at Stanford where Sleep Medicine began. The network of innovative physicians really gave me the best foundation for learning how to think about changing healthcare. We have now treated millions of patients struggling with night-time breahting issues and are distributed globally.
